With your highest risk for disaster likely coming
from some form of unauthorized network activity or
network security breech, most businesses cannot
afford to stand by and wait for the inevitable.
There
are many things that can be done to a network at
little or no cost at all that will make dramatic
improvements to network security making it much
harder to gain unauthorized access to your network
Network security policies can range from one extreme
of not having any to the other extreme of having so
much security that IT systems are unusable. The
safest computer is the one that is behind a
physically locked door, shut off, not connected to a
network, not connected to the Internet, etc.
Although this example would be quite secure it's
probably not very useful.
If
bad people want to get in bad enough and they are
willing to apply any amount of resources to gain
entry, they will more than likely succeed at some
point.
For
most businesses the best answer is to have a network
security strategy somewhere in between the
extremes. A middle ground that will make it as
difficult as possible on would be intruders while
allowing authorized users to access network
resources as needed and the solution should not cost
more than the assets your trying to protect.
Compunet Group can provide your organization with
network security solutions that will let you sleep
soundly at night in the knowledge that your network
is secure.
With
network security incidents constantly on the rise,
the risks associated with doing nothing far exceed
the cost of determining your vulnerabilities and
taking the necessary steps to protect your assets. |
